About My House Design/Build Team
Our Story
For 20 years Graeme Huguet and his team have designed, built and managed projects throughout the Greater Vancouver area, including residential single-family homes, condominiums, townhouse complexes, commercial spaces, and churches. Respected by our peers, our team has received 20 Georgie Awards® from the Home Builder's Association of BC, 4 Canadian Home Builders' Association (CHBA) National SAM awards, a BC Landscape & Nursery Association Award for Best Residential Landscape; and most recently 2010 GVHBA RenOvation Award for Best Outdoor Space.
Referrals are the foundation for new business for the My House Team. Our passion for each aspect of the process of designing and building renovations or new homes has led to clients referring friends and industry associates referring their clients. One of our sources of referrals has been industry spokesperson Shell Busey, who for 12 years has referred homeowners to Graeme Huguet and his team through Shell Busey HouseSmart Renovations and the HouseSmart Referral Network. We set out to meet and exceed our clients' expectations so that they will be eager to tell others about the great work we completed for them.
Our Mission

Our team strives to provide a complete package for any size of renovation or custom home building project, making each job a success and delighting all our clients. Why Design/Build?
Having experience with homeowners who have had difficulty in dealing with designers, city officials, tradespeople and suppliers when working on home projects, our team has found that planning and thinking through the entire process from concept to completion is the best solution for completing a renovation or custom home building project on time and within budget. Using the insight and knowledge we gain from clients in the design phase, we can provide the best experience in the actual construction phase and, ultimately, the best results.

Moreover, the relationships we have built with each other over the years helps us create a synergy of unity and professionalism as we collaborate to complete a project according to our client's vision.
Our Community
We follow a simple philosophy that encourages us to be a strong and supportive neighbor in every community in which we do business. To this end, we respect the neighbors who live near the projects we are working on by operating with limited noise, traffic and debris. Also, we support educational forums, such as renovation or new home seminars, with the Canadian Home Builders' Association.
Moreover, as members of the Board of Trade, we acknowledge the issues our community faces and involve ourselves in these issues. From assisting with Mercy House in Langley, BC, (Mercy Ministries Canada) a non-profit organization designed to assist young women struggling with serious life-controlling problems through their residential, preventative, and transitional service, to GVHBA Sponsored Community Initiative.
Our Planet
My House is committed to leading our industry towards environmentally conscious practices, making a difference in our communities, and supporting sustainable building practices. As a result, we are proud members of networks for environmental stewardship in the building industry such as Built Green™ BC, and the National Association of Home Builders' Certified Green program.
