Georgian Grandeur – A New Build In Surrey

Historical elements mimicking the look of old estate homes was the major driving force behind the design of Georgian Grandeur, a new build in Surrey.  With its symmetrical styling, brick façade and square shape, this home resembles a stately manor from yesteryear.  But inside it has all the modern conveniences of today.

New Build In Surrey

This weekend home was designed to be a fun, relaxing, family centric space.  The internal focal point is the impressive swimming pool.  This client wanted to make sure that this space was accessible and welcoming, encouraging their family to spend time together in the heart of the home, playing and having fun.  The indoor pool has a vaulted ceiling with skylight and beam detail, and beautiful French doors that open to the lovely outdoor patio space, to maximize summer enjoyment.

Having a large great room space for entertaining was also a high priority.  We duplicated the brick in the kitchen to disguise structural elements and create an impressive feature.  Arch details over the rangetop and adjacent to the island frame in the space without closing it off from the dining room and living room.  The T shaped island has a working surface that houses the sink at the top, and the stem of the T is a table height extension with glass display cabinets, allowing comfortable seating for 6.  Off the main kitchen, there is a spice kitchen and a large walk in pantry.

Recurring features in this home are wainscot paneling and coffered ceilings – Traditional elements that add just enough detail to make this home feel elegant.  Polished marble looking porcelain tiles also give the feeling of luxury, but provide a practical and maintenance free solution. Check here www.irishpaving.ie/. An opulent look but easy maintenance was a major driving force in selecting materials and finishes for this home.

Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms, each with their own ensuite bathroom.  The large master suite features a sitting area with electric fireplace, a balcony to enjoy the westerly sunsets, and a den for those days when work calls.  Additionally, a portion of the upstairs was reserved for a 2 bedroom in-law suite, where the clients’ extended family stay.

This 7000 square foot home commands a stately presence on the outside and envelops it’s family in a warm, inviting, and elegant environment on the inside.
